The 60th Anniversary of the Cable Car to Velika Planina

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, an exhibition was set up in the waiting area at the upper station of the cable car at Šimnovec, highlighting the fact that for six decades, it has been possible to reach the plateau by cable car.

The exhibition reveals that dreams of easier access to this alpine gem began nearly 100 years ago. It explores how these dreams eventually came true, what can be seen and experienced on the plateau, why it is special and unique, and much more.
