New Year's Eve 1905
Also, at the beginning of the 20th century, a celebration of New Year’s Eve was organized in Kamnik, but it was certainly not a mass or open-air celebration.
In Kamničan, a supplement to newspaper Naš list, on 30 December 1905, we find an invitation to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the National Reading Room. The announced program was as follows: “Our Salon Orchestra organizes the last day of the year in all rooms of the National Reading Room Variety-Evening. Ladies and gentlemen, who have organized many casual parties many times, have promised their participation in the prosperity of this evening. Salon points are performed by the Salon Orchestra, the band will give concerts, we will have the opportunity to see the wrong world, shadowy images, we will hear various duets and tercets, the road violinist also promised his participation. At midnight we will be surprised by a vivid picture. New Year’s mail will also be important for this evening. Lovers of magic art will also be catered for. After midnight, a dance is performed in the hall. The start is set at half past 8 p.m. Entrance fee per person 70 vinars. We wish that visitors will come in promenade clothes.“
