New publication - Slovenian majolica
In front of us is an extremely comprehensive, transparent and beautiful publication entitled Slovenian majolica, which was created in collaboration with the National Museum of Slovenia and the Intermunicipal Museum Kamnik. After the forewords by both directors, Mateja Kos introduces us to Slovenian majolica and the history of majolica and faience as a design technique. Marko Kumer presents the history of Kamnik painted ceramics, Saša Bučan writes about Kamnik ceramics among Slovenian artists, Irena Radej about the production of Kamnik ceramics and Saša Rudolf and Zora Žbontar about ceramics in Slovenia. At the end of the publication is an exhaustive exhibition catalog. The editor is Saša Rudolf, and the publication has been fully translated into English. It was designed by Barbara Kokalj Bogataj, and the photographs are the work of Tomaž Lauko. You can see it in the selection here: slovenska-majolika_sample
We can say that the Slovene majolica, and thus the Kamnik majolica, gained its validity and recognition on a Slovenian and global scale with this publication and also the exhibition.
You can get the publication Slovenian majolica in all our museum shops.
