Miha Maleš, a painting poet
Slovenian graphic artist and painter Miha Maleš (1903-1987) was born in Jeranovo near Kamnik and graduated in 1927 in the Academy in Prague. Prior to that, he studied painting at the Zagreb and Vienna academies. In 1930, the Miha Maleš Art Salon was opened in Ljubljana. He was also a restorer and merchant, writer, publisher and editor. He was the initiator of a group of painters, which took the name Fourth Generation. Maleš is one of the pioneers of Slovenian graphics. In addition, he was also a master of colour monotype. He has had his own gallery in Kamnik since 1980, where we exhibit his extensive creative work and other art exhibitions.
