Tatjana Drovenik-Čalič: Education in Kamnik region in the 1960s

As part of the Joyfull to Kamnik exhibition project, class teacher and publicist Tatjana Drovenik-Čalič will present the development of education in Kamnik in the 1960s. At that time, the changes of the school reform of 1958 were implemented. This decade represents a real investment boom with the construction of new schools, gymnasiums and the adaptation of old school buildings.
In Kamnik, after the school reform, four central elementary schools were created, which were assigned branch schools in 1964; The 1st primary school (today Fran Albreht Primary School) had branches in Nevlje, Mekinje, Tunjice, Vranja Peč and Duplica; II. primary school (today Tomo Brejca Primary School) in Sela, Loke, Šmartno in Tuhinj, Zg. Tuhinj, Špitalič and Motnik. Stranje elementary school had a branch only in Gozd. The central school was also Komenda – Moste.
