Tadej Pogačar - Behind the Big Stage

The exhibition about Tadej Pogačar, the leading cyclist in the world cycling rankings, a global star who hails from Klanac pri Komenda, talks about his journey and sports activities behind the big stage. What made him happy, what he did before he became a professional cyclist and how he is accepted and seen by his compatriots today after his many outstanding successes and achievements.

All through the lens and text of Tadej’s fellow countryman, photographer, writer, publisher… France Stelet and under the auspices of the Intermunicipal Museum Kamnik.

The photographer’s view and the text reveal that Tadej Pogačar was a scout in his early years, that he also tried his hand at ski jumping and football. France Stele accompanied him on Komenda races and, of course, on the magnificent receptions that his compatriots prepared for him, due to his numerous successes. The exhibition reveals something more about Tadej, different, “hidden”, and shows the background from which he grew into a giant of world cycling.

The opening will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 11 a.m. on Šolska pota in Komenda.

The exhibition will be opened by the mayor of the Municipality of Komenda, Mr. Jurij Kern. The author of the photos and text, France Stele, will talk about the idea for the exhibition, the content and the title.

We will plant a “pink tree”, a donation from Europa Donna – the Slovenian Association for the Fight against Breast Cancer, which will remind citizens of the importance of taking care of their health.
