Summer museum night in Kamnik 20. 6. 2020
On Summer muesum night museums and galleries throughout Slovenia are opening their doors for various tours, workshops, concerts and other events on the third Saturday in June. It will be the same this year. This year’s summer night will take place at Zaprice Castle (inside and / or outside) – depending on the weather. Admission to all events is free during the event! You are kindly invited!
Program:
18.00: Public guided tour of the occasional archeological exhibition Lost Roman postal station Ad publicanos.
Hint: it was located along the main road Emona – Celeja. About this and more, curator Janja Železnikar.
18: 45–20.30: Tastes of Roman cuisine
Even today we use foods, sauces, additives, spices… brought to us by the Romans. The basis of the Roman diet was the pulse. The dishes were given garumi flavors. Polona Janežič will reveal the secrets of Roman cooking and eating. At the workshop we will prepare the dough, cook the stew… At the end – tasting.
20.30–21.30: Roman fashion show
Younger models will walk the runway. All children who are willing to try on the clothes of different social strata of Roman society are invited. Mag. Pavla Peterle Udovič will show us antique clothes from the Arheorobe collection. It will also be with us – a surprise!
21.30–22.30 Ancient musical instruments and music
Which musical instruments were used in antiquity. How do we know that? How did they sound? Matej Prevc and Gašper Kvartič will also recite Catullus, Ovid, Propercius, and the Greek Homer.
