Phd Tone Cevc, ethnologist, researcher and connoisseur of the Alpine world

On May 31, 2022, ethnologist phd. Tone Cevc would celebrate his 90th birthday. We are preparing a film in memory of his research work, life achievements and legacy. The film will illuminate his life path, which began in Kamnik. Narators in the video are: daughter and brother of dr. Tone Cevec, and Cevec’s colleagues from the Institute of Slovene Ethnography and the Institute of Archeology ZRC SAZU.

The film premiere will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 7 pm at Zaprice Castle.

Together with family members of the Cevc family, we will remember the great ethnological scientist, researcher, connoisseur of the Alpine world and a man who is largely responsible for the fact that archaeological research of the highlands began in Slovenia.

As part of the celebration of an important etnologist, the opening of the exhibition Ukovška planina – in memory of Tonet Cevec by photographer France Stele will take place on 31 May 2022, at 6 pm in the Atrium of ZRC SAZU (Novi trg 2 in Ljubljana).
