Our Borders

In Maister’s birth house we are preparing a new occasional exhibition Our Borders; title, we borrowed from the famous Maister’s song. With the exhibition, which will be opened on May 15, 2019 at 7 pm, we will recall the memories of the events a hundred years ago when new borders and new states emerged after the end of the First World War and the break-up of Austro-Hungarian Empire; also, for Slovenes. With the subtitle “Battle for the Northern Border” and “Maister’s fighters from the Kamnik-Domžale region, we wanted to draw attention to the fact that part of the exhibition was intended for boys and men from the former municipalities Kamnik and Domžale, who volunteered to help Rudolf Maister in Koroška region. You will see, read and also hear about all this in the recorded memories of the Maister’s fighters: who, after the end of the First World War, went back to the battlefield, this time for their real homeland.
