Forward into the Past

We are in April 2025, and ahead of us is our joint museum online campaign Forward into the Past, which has been co-organized since 2020 by the Community of Museums of Slovenia and the Department for Movable Heritage and Museums at the National Museum of Slovenia.
Museums and galleries are not just guardians of the past—they are vibrant spaces of ideas, exploration, and inspiration. In a world of constant change, they are seeking new ways to bring heritage closer to the modern visitor, preserve it for future generations, and intertwine it with the challenges of today.

From April 7th to 13th, 2025, we invite you to join us in discovering how museums co-create the future. Through digital content and interactive activities, you will be able to explore how museums are shaping their future. Follow the websites and social media of the participating institutions and explore hidden museum treasures through the hashtags #forwardintothepast, #museumsandthefuture, and #museumsandfun.
Join us on a digital journey through time, where the past meets the future in innovative and fun ways.
