THIS HAPPY DAY OF SLOVENE CULTURE
As the museums are closed to visitors, we have prepared a new offer for you on our website, My Museum – Cultural Heritage, a little for real, a little for fun. We chose the name in order to adopt an interesting story, collaborate with your contributions, solve a riddle or a rebus. My museum combines stories about museum objects, Historical Secrets – short and interesting stories from the past and semi-past, Tastes through the centuries with interesting recipes, products, cooking utensils, a virtual museum, games and puzzles and teaching materials to help with learning and research.
You are invited to view and participate https://www.muzej-kamnik-on.net/en/my-museum/
Intermunicipal Museum Kamnik
December 8-11, 2020
#FURTH TO THE PAST / #HOLIDAY MUSEUM
The SMS Forward to the Past campaign, in which more than sixty museums, galleries and other cultural institutions in Slovenia are participating, will be held under the subtitle Festive Museum, as we need some additional festive atmosphere, and museums and galleries keep many witnesses of the past.
Everything in the Kamnik Museum is marked by the Slovenian majolika, an exhibition that we opened in cooperation with the National Museum of Slovenia in November 2020. The majolika has a special status in both the Kamnik and Slovenian traditions. It has become, so to speak, a mythological object, closely connected with the identity of the Slovene nation. As a symbol of good and happy company, it is sung by folk songs.
We will premiere two events on our website https://www.muzej-kamnik-on.net/en/ and FB https://www.facebook.com/muzej.kamnik/
- An interesting story about the Kamnik majolika will be published on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 9 am
- On Friday, 11 December 2020 at 10 am, a conversation with the Slovenian painter Karel Zelenko, who also created in the company Keramika Kamnik, will be shown.

URŠA TOMAN – Emigration of dreams
An occasional sculptural exhibition entitled The Emigration of Dreams, which will also be presented virtually.
The sculptor Urša Toman will present herself at this exhibition in the gallery View. Her interest in placing sculpture in the natural environment, parks and gardens is reflected through her works, which are placed in such environments. Urša Toman creates playful sculptures that are imbued with sensitivity, grace, helplessness and childish playfulness. He makes them into natural materials such as clay, wood, stone and combines them with colour additives. The figures, which predominantly belong to a small, intimate form, are marked by accentuated eyes and sensual lips that become an eloquent portrait segment of the depiction.
