Andrej Perko was born in 1946 in Ljubljana, graduated from high school in Novo mesto, graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana and later studied at the Ljubljana Pedagogical Academy – fine arts department. In the years 1968-71 he was a member of the ŠOLT Photo Group, and later he also received his art education at numerous workshops under the mentorship of Herman Pivko, Duba Sambolec, Dušan Fišer and others.
