You can choose freely among visits to our branches. The possibilities are: a visit to the Museum and the Gallery, the Museum and Maister’s Birthplace, or the Gallery and Maister’s Birthplace, all including a guided tour.

Painting majolica jugs and other ceramics was characteristic of Kamnik. The tradition of making white clay ceramics in Kamnik can be followed from the mid-19^th century onwards, and from the early 20^th century onwards also the making and painting of majolica jugs. Painting on ceramics can be carried out in the museum workshop, led by an outside specialist.

We learn about various creative techniques, such as glasswork, mosaic, collage, fresco, graphic, stained glass, sketching, painting with oil/acryl on canvas, monotyping and other techniques (sometimes in cooperation with external specialists), depending on your wishes and the content of the current exhibition.

Reading and reciting Maister’s poetry, learning about his literary works and discussing their content.  Learning about literature relating to Maister for adults and a picture book about Maister for children

Birthday parties held in the museum are different because of the environment, the museum objects and because of the adventures we arrange. A birthday party includes a tour of the Museum and its collections, and a requested workshop – Roman, archaeological, prehistorical, medieval, etc. The party is further enhanced by a hunt for a museum treasure and ball games. It takes place outside and so depends on suitable weather.

Birthday parties can be arranged on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings for groups of up to 20 children aged between 6 and 12.

Food and drink, cutlery and plates are provided by you. The objects made by the children at the workshops are taken home with them.
