The symbolism of the bunny is not fully clarified. Eostre, Anglo-Saxon and Germanic goddesses of fertility or eggs and rabbits are to be donated every spring. Eggs represent love and friendship, as well as the whole of creation as a cosmic egg.

There is a story of a poor mother who buried cakes for her children in the garden and announced to them that a surprise awaited them in the garden. The little buddies ran to the garden and saw a bunny who happened to be there by chance. They cheered him on and thought he was the surprise their mom made them happy with. Yet another theory is that the bunny is a symbol of fertility and new life due to the large number of offspring.
