Cultural heritage of Komenda Municipality
The year 2018 is called the European Year of Cultural Heritage. In the Intermunicipal Museum Kamnik, together with the Komenda Municipality, we decided to photograph a diverse heritage in the municipal borders.
Cultural heritage is the legacy of our ancestors; is part of us, a part of the environment and society we live in. It surrounds us in cities, villages, homes, various buildings, libraries, museums, craft workshops, on farms, ... is in the country (archaeological sites), in records, in our language. Cultural heritage is part of the tradition, knowledge and knowledge of our ancestors, is the tradition and wealth that was entrusted to us to protect, preserve and leave in the best possible condition for our descendants.
On the exhibition boards on the school path in Komenda, various objects, achievements of top art, crafts, architecture, architecture, literature, traditions, traditions of the Komenda municipality are presented. The photographs show important historical buildings, castles, churches, altars, chapels, signs, houses, farms, beehives, monuments, crafts and artisan products, hayrack ... Unfortunately, the state of the objects is not the best in some places, and conservation was one of the main criteria for selection.
Photographs were mostly taken by France Stele, a native of Komenda, and partly from the photo documentation of the Intermunicipal Museum Kamnik.
At the exhibition we highlighted some of the best preserved and restored examples of heritage. Through the exhibition, we try to raise awareness of the importance of preserving tradition, knowledge, craft activity, giving the place a seal and a historical value.
