MIHA PERČIČ – PLANETARIUM

“…Miha Perčič is primarily a printmaker, but he approaches printmaking as a constant experimentation and expansion of often the same motif through a series of cycles. The vast majority of his works are built upon the simple form of a circle, which offers countless possibilities for journeys into various spheres of meaning. Lately, the artist’s focus has been on abstract expression, which communicates a deeper meaning—especially when color merges with form. Color plays a crucial role in Perčič’s work, not only in a visual sense but also in terms of content. Through color, he takes us to worlds beyond our planet, into the heart of the Milky Way, marked by the central figure—the sun. Painted in red and yellow, it evokes a sense of warmth, awakening, and growth. Other familiar coexisting planets follow, each tinted with its own characteristic color, which the artist enriches with various textural patterns created from materials such as cardboard, tape ends, and plastic objects. In doing so, he creates diverse patterns that highlight the materiality of this otherwise simple, most basic shape.”
